HOW TOs : Access banned sites, view videos at Veoh.com and for faster loading time at youku.com
As previously posted, it is reposted here because it is extremely useful.Like myself, from Malaysia and banned so technically can't watch the Veoh.com clips. And for some inexplicable reason the clips in youku.com takes forever. Since Clipnabber won't work in youku, that is frustrating.
This is a post to those who faces the same problem, since youku.com has a wealth of clips of Asian based entertainment, some as long as one hour, something youtube does not accommodate and I notice hardly any banned clips. I found the methods because I wanted to access the Fukuyama Masaharu clips but they had more. Even with broadband connection oh my god was my reaction. 2 hours and still loading just 2 minutes. Now I am watching the clips even during mid day so the methods works. If you know how to grab the flv files from youku, do post them here. Yes I tried but a file splitting into 4 parts and the connection gets broken off just seconds into downloading simply means you can't download from youku. For Veoh, just use clipnabber.com

It works faster and more reliable than those proxy website. Maybe one day veoh will get around this one but thus far works fast and reliable. Make sure you connect to this Hotspot Shield before you click the veoh.com video links.
If you successfully opened the Hotspot Shield eventhough you're from banned country, you will see the video below.

The above method also works for Megaupload which is banned in HK I was told. It works for a whole lot of banned downloading sites by the way. If it doesn't work, scroll to the bottom for an alternative method.

Downloading the clips had me scratching my head. More so when not many would upload the vids to megaupload or sendspace or etc and yet the videos are all here. I read a few articles and some advised to log on during midnight or after but Malaysians need to sleep. Anyway I notice that right click the embedded video, choose the 3rd button (the folder button), adjust slider to 10MB and close it. Then open Hotspot Shield and somehow everything loads fast as it should be. Not sure why. But I suppose you must clean up your temp files folders often.
If you adjusted as above and had the same problems I had prior to that, about 10 seconds of buffering the video below should start and it will load as you watch. DO NOT PAUSE, just let it run till the end.

By the way the Iron Chef is really spot on and very funny! Body language is truly a universal language. Somehow, don't know how I could just understand Japanese. I am a linguist expert I tell you even if frankly I have no idea what they're talking about.
As for youtube, tudou, daily motion, etc, from Malaysian viewpoint no trouble accessing, watching and even using clipnabber.com to grab the video.

We have banned sites. Unspoken but we all know because suddenly one day the site becomes inaccessible although you know it is still there. So what do you do? Not much because your ISP (as in our local ISP) who sold their souls has restricted us even if they're not supposed to. Because then what is the point of ... well you all know what I mean fellow countrymen. But sometimes these banned sites though controversial may be useful sites. The reason why I am revealing how to access them because I believe sometimes you need to judge for yourself. We are all adults so we should be treated as adults. If we are children, well knowledge is power and without knowledge, what is the worth of our brain power?
Proxy sites works. But slow and to do it again and again each time is boring. The answer lies in OpenDNS settings. Sign up for the basic plan which is free. In fact I don't think you need to register for an account at all. After that, you will need to change your DNS settings and if you're scared, maybe you shouldn't do it but no worries, once done you can access those blocked sites and I even thought for usual sites the loading time is a bit faster as well. Click here to see what's the new DNS settings to set to. Click here for guidelines on how to change the settings (all versions of Windows as well as for other operating system). If you don't like, you can always switch back to your old DNS settings. If you're using Streamyx, either copy down the old DNS settings or just give them a call.
If you're as frustrated as I was hope the above tips will assist you.

Welcome to Point2Entertainment, basically a blog about everything opinion based. Been here since about a decade ago under different names so this is like the nth template change.
