HOW TO ... access banned sites & feedback required
The following is my follow up post of this previously posted ...
Interestingly it has come to my attention those of you in China can't access Sendspace.com which means you can't download some files uploaded there! But since you can read my blog, it means you can access this blog. I wonder is it the same for mediafire and the likes? I also know HK residents can't access Megaupload, the same as those in Malaysia can't access veoh.com. Frustrating isn't it? If you're one of those from countries that restrict access to Sendspace, Megaupload, Veoh, etc (any banned sites really), I suppose as I have written before you can access via
1. proxy websites such as this huge list but it can be painfully slow and it may not work all the time because some proxy websites gets banned as well!
2. Reconfigure your DNS settings to OpenDNS. Click here to read how to do it. In fact this is the best way but I am not sure if you can access sendspace this way. In passing I tried to access Veoh this way and well, I couldn't but I could access other content based banned sites. In the same post I wrote did mention about the following way, which is to me the most effective way thus far ...
3. The best way which I received feedback works on Megaupload for HK residents is Hotspot Shield. I switched on my Hotspot Shield and voila! I could access Veoh! I am not sure how tough is China's firewall or whatever they call it but if you can get to Hotspot Shield website, download the application, connect to it and see if you can access Sendspace and download the files.
Doesn't hurt to try all methods. If you can't even access Hotspot Shield but would like to see if after connecting to Hotspot Shield whether you can get into those restricted media sites, email me at funnlim(AT)gmail(DOT)com and I shall see what I can do.
But seriously, those who can't access Sendspace, can you access other downloading sites similar to sendspace? Would appreciate your feedback as that would greatly help me in determining where to upload media files in future, if any. Use Post A Comment please.

Welcome to Point2Entertainment, basically a blog about everything opinion based. Been here since about a decade ago under different names so this is like the nth template change. Old friends may notice I am a bit slow on reviews these days but hey, from time to time there are some added, whether by me or someone else. From what I know, the China counterpart used the following site for uploads/downloads:
1. www.rayfile.com (You have to use it's download manager for larger files)
2. www.91files.com (extremely painfully SLOW for Malaysian line like mine)
3. www.rapidshare.com (works for 50-50 for them)
4. http://www.imagehost.org
p.s. I love mediafire because they're fast and rarely disconnect. But I know that China and some say HK counterpart could not use it.
